Lynx

The lynx is related to the bobcat, but its coloring is more silvered to fit its environment. Its food of choice is the snowshoe hare. The average lynx weighs about 30 pounds and requires one to three hares a day. The lynx on display here weighs 50 pounds, requiring two to three hares a day. In annual terms, that equals over 1,000 hares per lynx. Their large paws are necessary to find food and move in very deep snow.
