The American Bald Eagle Foundation is committed to accessible wildlife education. Our raptor center and natural history museum are open year-round, where general admission covers a self-guided tour. In addition to our daily on-site programs, we offer guided tours for small groups, on-site and off-site programs for larger groups, and virtual programs.

Scheduling and Cancellation Policies:

  • On-site and virtual programs must be scheduled 2 weeks in advance
  • Off-site programs must be scheduled 1 month in advance
  • 48-hour cancellation notice (72-hours for off-site programs) is required or your group will be charged the minimum fee for the program. Please make every effort to be on time for your scheduled program. If you are late, it may mean a shorter program for your group due to time constraints.

Weather Policies:

Rain is always a possibility in Southeast Alaska. Ponchos are provided at the facility, as many of our programs can and will still happen out in the rain. Birthday programs will have an alternate rain space picnic area.

Due to snow accumulations, winter on-site programs may be altered to ensure safety of guests, staff, and birds.

Programming Space:

  • On-site programming spaces are catered to the needs of the birds.
  • For the comfort and safety of the birds, no contact between guests and raptors is allowed.
  • You can help make a great off-site program space for us by having an area with good acoustics and little echo, a solid wall behind the presentation space (this helps the birds feel safe), and no other animals present, especially dogs.
  • We welcome service animals at our programs, both on and off-site, but ask that we receive advance notice if possible.
